Fight the Hunger

We all know that fitting in isn’t always easy. Therefore, it helps to know a little bit about social norms and traditions before you travel. Here is a little something you should know about Argentinean nightlife:

itangoThe goal to fitting in with Argentinean culture is to always arrive late, never early or even on time unless you want to commit social suicide. Do not even be seen at a restaurant before 9pm (odds are will not find one open anyway) and never arrive at a bar before midnight or at a nightclub before 2am. This may sound like one of those extreme tourist tips that the locals would laugh at. And if you are anything like me, you will brush off this tip and head to dinner just about when you stomach starts to growl around 7pm. However, bear in mind that if you want to keep up with Argentineans, you need to be prepared to stay out late, very late, so the extra time that you will acquire in the evenings by abiding by this rule, will be ideal for a nap. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Argentina Won’t Cry for Anyone Who Stays Here

When I travel I usually prefer to stay at boutique hotels that have a distinct charm or style. I like the intimate feeling of a small hotel and having the ability to explore different corners of the property without bumping into other guests. However, there is also a drawback to smaller hotels. Smaller hotels usually lack a spa, a pool, and other resort style amenities. Therefore, when I learned about an early 1900′s mansion that was converted into a chic boutique hotel with many resort style amenities I was intrigued.
